16 Ways To Start 2016 Right

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you all had the most fantastic NYE and are feeling pumped and ready for what 2016 may have to bring. After the fun of the party season has died down, January can start to feel a little blue. In today's post I'll be sharing with you 16 things you can do to kick start your 2016 in the right direction!

  • Have a diary/planner - Get yourself organised with a planner and fill yourself with positivity in a diary.
  • Re-decorate your workspace - Printing out some inspiring wall art can really help to improve your positivity and working mood.
  • Exercise - Start the year off right by working on those fitness goals straight away!!
  • Try something new - Whether it be a new haircut or a new hobby, give yourself something to be excited about this year.
  • Make a happiness jar - Every time you make a happy memory this year, write it down and place it into a jar. Then when you're feeling sad you can remember the reasons you have to feel positive and happy.
  • Read more - Back at work/school next week? Use this time to start reading more, not only will it help you get back into the working mode but it will stretch your mind too!
  • Make plans - Similar to trying something new, give yourself something to look forward too and be excited about this year. It could be a shopping day with the girls or finally booking that summer holiday - This year, make adventures!
  • Use Pinterest - I love Pinterest when I feel like I'm lacking inspiration. Whether it be a motivational quote or some pretty street style snaps to inspire your wardrobe, Pinterest certainly isn't short of motivation.
  • Pamper day - What a better way to start the new year than a spot of 'me time'?! I really want to start looking after my skin and hair a bit more this year and a pamper day is certainly the best way to do it!
  • Have a clear out - Still contemplating about that t-shirt you've thrown to the back of your wardrobe and haven't worn in 6 months? Chuck it out! Out with the old and in with the new. The best way to refresh your life is to refresh your space.
  • Re-design your blog - Blogger? Feeling a little uninspired? Why not re-design your template and spend a day planning out posts for the upcoming months. This shall help to boost your blogging motivation now that blogmas is over (If you took part! - Well done!!) and give you something to feel excited about again with your blog. If you're feeling uninspired about blogging, now is the best time to change things as this will help to set the tone of your blog with your readers for the next year.
  • Set yourself goals - I know that not everybody is a fan of new year's resolutions but setting yourself goals is sometimes the best way to move forward. We often tend to set ourself 'unrealistic' goals for the year ahead as we fantasise about our new bodies and minds - Create yourself a plan on how you will achieve those goals and each month you can refer back to it to track your progress. 
  • Become a morning person - Getting into a regular sleeping pattern of 8 hours each night being awake by 9 can really help to boost motivation. Remember, the longer your day, the more time you have to build on your goals.
  • Eat your five a day/Drink plenty of water - Sometimes it isn't always easy to stick to a balanced and healthy diet, especially with the piles of leftover Christmas chocolate still lingering around! But eating healthier shall ultimately lead to skin and health benefits and thus improving your mood. For the perfect recipe to positivity, one must enrich the body with positive ingredients. 
  • Create a routine - Giving yourself a daily plan to follow which may include exercise, work and reading will allow your body to get used to the new changes you may plan to make in your life in 2016. Therefore, rather than it becoming a chore to go on that morning run you will begin to look forward to it, as it becomes a part of who you are and the way you now live your life.
  • Refresh your social space - Lastly, you've refreshed your workspace and now it's time to refresh your daily environment. Is there anyone in your life who is causing you more bother than happiness? It's hard but sometimes we need to banish any negative energy from our lives in order to become much happier and positive in ourselves. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you.
